OUR STORY
A Family-Owned Farm in Gibsons
Meet Dan and Mari at The Hideaway Homestead. Formerly known as Bauer Stein Farms since 2015, they've created a home-based farm filled with animals they care about and produce that is grown consciously! We take pride in building up our soil to grow beautiful food. We use spent grain from the local breweries, sheep and chicken manure, and singing while we weed to get food from our fields to your tables.

ABOUT THE HIDEAWAY HOMESTEAD
The Hideaway Homestead is a bustle of activity where we raise pasture pigs, sheep, meat and egg chickens, ducks, and bees. We also produce a variety of crops in our market garden, orchard and berry patch. We're dedicated to wholesome food systems on B.C's Sunshine Coast. We do not use chemical pesticides or herbicides on our crops, antibiotics or hormones in our livestock.
We do our best to do it right.
Our farm amenities include an outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired oven and smoker. We love the intersection of farm and chef. So if you have ideas about executing that with us, please reach out!
There is more than just production to our production. This is a family affair and a community hub, and a heck of a lot of fun! Family, friends, and fun are at the centre of our work and help us to get the job done.
We invite you to visit us at our farm stand on Sundays in May to November from 10am-3pm, located at 1395 North Road in Gibsons. Come experience the tranquility of our orchard, meet our animals, and explore the tasty homegrown food from our market!

You are what you eat, eats!
At The Hideaway, we are committed to providing food that we feel good about growing for our family and friends. We believe there is an ethic that is associated with food production and we are trying to uphold that. We use healthy inputs to ensure that everything we produce is of quality. Our pork is pasture and forest raised, our poultry is free range, and our produce is free from sprays. Did you know our pigs eat spent grain and leftover produce from our local brewery and grocery store? They are healthy animals that eat real food, and in turn the meat tastes better. Grown the way food should be.
